Is there a fee to be a Mender on the Mendit App?

No! There is no cost to join the MendIt platform as a Mender small business.

MendIt is meant to support small businesses, rather than hobbyists.

My business is not located in Houston. Can I still apply to be a Mender?

Absolutely! We are looking to expand to other cities soon. Please apply online and contact us at contact@mendit.app with any questions.

How can I become a Mender?

If you own a small business that mends, tailors, or customizes clothing and textiles or work as a contract Mender/tailoring professional, you can apply to become a Mender by clicking the "Apply Now" Link above.

How will I receive orders?

Depending on the option selected by the customers, orders will be either dropped off by the customer or by a transportation service provided by MendIt. 

What is the expected turn-around time for orders?

Mendit customers expect their items to be completed within 5 days once the Mender has possession of the order.

However, they are told that it may take up to 7-10 days, depending on workload.

How can I contact the customer?

We are working on an in-app messaging feature that will eventually allow you to contact the customer directly. In the meantime, if there are any issues with your customer’s order, you can contact our team at support@mendit.app.

What can I do if I can't fulfill an order?

If you can’t fulfill an order, please contact us immediately so we can assist.

Can I adjust the price on an order?

If you receive an order that was selected a small fix, but it was actually a big fix, then you can request a price adjustment.

And vice versa! If you receive an item selected as a big fix but it was actually a small fix, you can also request a partial refund to be sent to the customer.

How can I manage my business' Mendit account?

As an approved Mender, you will have access to the Mender Web Portal.

This is where you will be able to manage orders received from the app.

The web portal is easiest to manage on a computer or laptop.

How can I pause incoming orders?

Please, contact us at support@mendit.app and we can help put your services on hold.

How does payment work? Is it secure?

Menders create an account via Stripe and are paid for services upfront, via direct deposit.

All payments are processed via Stripe and Stripe’s servers. Click here to learn more about Stripe’s security features. 

The Mendit team will walk you through all of these steps during your onboarding orientation.

Can I decide what amount to charge for a repair?

If you become a Mender, you will have to accept the MendIt pricing set for your local area, which will be set based on local averages.

I forgot an item for an order. What can I do?

Please, contact us immediately at support@mendit.app so we can let the customer know and get the item returned to them as soon as possible.
