How it works
1. Select what type of garment you would like to have repaired.
2. Then select if the garment is sized for an adult or child.
3. Finally let us know what type of repair you need- Small Fix, Big Fix, or Zipper (see definitions below).
4. Use the "Anything else your mender should know" box to describe what you want to have done.
5. Upload a photo of the garment.
6. Upload a second photo of the garment.
7. Place the order.
After you place the order
1. We will send you an email with shipping instructions and a shipping label.
2. Package up and mail out your item.
3. Once received, the mender will begin working on the repair and if any questions arise, we will contact you via text or email.
4. Repairs can take up to two weeks and your item will be shipped back to you when completed.
5. Repairs are completed in Houston, TX with by our non-profit menders.
Small Fixes
- Replacing up to 4 buttons on a single garment
- Repairing small holes (less than 4” wide)
- Letting out a hem (please provide your desired measurements, or say 'let it out as far as possible')
- Minor hem that does not require in-person fitting (please provide your desired measurements)
- Add a patch
Big Fixes
- Multiple repairs on the same garment
- Replacing 5 or more buttons on a single garment
- Repairing big holes (more than 4” wide)
- Replacing lining of pockets
- Sewing in bra cups (you can provide yours or specify a size)
- Any repairs involving beadwork
Zippers
- Basic Zipper Repair (realignment or slider replacement)
- Zipper Replacement (standard clothing items like jackets or pants)
- Heavy-Duty Zipper Replacement (outerwear)
Note: In some cases, there may be additional costs for hardware (such as specific zippers required). Once your item is with the mender, you’ll receive a follow-up with any necessary details.
